Sarah Delano Pavlik is a Springfield native who is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Texas and is an Illinois registered Certified Public Accountant. She is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Sarah began her practice at the preeminent Texas law firm Baker & Botts. She practiced in Dallas for several years before returning to Springfield in 1999 to join her family's law firm.

Through her estate planning practice, Sarah helps her clients preserve their assets and pass them down to future generations using legal tools such as wills, trust agreements, powers of attorney, prenuptial agreements, and more, but primarily using her experience to help her clients realize their visions and hopes for their families and other beneficiaries.

She also helps clients protect their families by naming guardians for minor children, executors and trustees who will honor her clients' wishes after they are gone. Sarah wants people to know that estate planning is not only for the wealthy. Wills and powers of attorney can save a great deal of time, expense and heartache for people from all walks.

Sarah guides clients through the estate administration process, including probate, trust administration, filing estate tax returns, and distributing assets.

Sarah counsels owners of businesses of all types on succession planning, whether their plans include family members or unrelated business partners. She know that succession planning for a farmer can be very different than succession planning for a retail business owner, and helps her clients formulate plans tailored to their individual circumstances. She integrates succession plans with estate plans to address all of her clients' needs.

Sarah advises with long established businesses, but she also works with client to form new business entities such as corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. She values her long relationships with her business clients as she helps guide them to both short term and long term success.

Sarah appreciates the many opportunities Springfield provides to give back to the community. She has served on numerous boards, including serving as the Chairperson of the Springfield Old Capitol Art Fair, a member of the St. John's Hospital Foundation Leadership Council, the Chairperson of the Illinois State Bar Association Federal Taxation Section Council, and the President of the Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council.
